I'd like you to meet...

Isn't he so cute!! I'm wanted a grey male budgie for a long time. My first ever budgie, Coco was the same colour and it was so very, very sad when he passed away :( I'm thinking that this little guy will settle in great though. He's still a bit scared, it's very traumatic being taken away from all your friends and family and put in a cage on your own in a strange home but he's been making sweet little tweeting noises today and he's eating and drinking fine. He even had a little bit of carrot that I put in his egg food.

The only problem we have is that I have no clue what to call him lol, so for now he is just Baby Budgie. I've thought of a few names so far but I'm still not sure. I've thought maybe Casper, Freddie, Angus (Gus for short lol) or Pip (as in pip squeak because he makes really squeaky chirps.)
Ah who knows I might not end up choosing any of them lol.
Hopefully my next post will be introducing him properly with an actual name lol.

Budgie Love...

Lola doesn;t always like Milo though lol. He just won't leave her alone!

Oh and I made them a new toy. My first attempt at toy-making and I don't think it turned out too bad :)

Ozzie is a prize winner!! :D

Ozzie won 3rd prize in a budgerigar competition at http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?34336-New-Years-Best-Budgie-Competition/page33

Here is his winning photo, isn't he gorgeous. :D

Milly & Milo!

Now I know that Ozzie and Lola got their own intro. posts but I thought I'd let Milly & Milo share as I got them together from a bird auction and they're my lovey-dovey couple :)

Here's Milo: (a few photos that I took today :P)

And now Milly :)

And finally a photo to show how cute they can be together <3

Lola!

Now its time to show you my grumpy Lola, or as I call her Lollipops :P

A photo from her first few days with me.

Growing up :)
A few weeks ago, her baby bars all gone!

Lollipops all grown up :)

I call her Roly Poly Loly, and she is ever so grumpy lol, she bosses around the other three but I think she's starting to mellow in her old age (She's not even a year old lol) as I saw Milo feeding her the other day and she never usually lets them anywhere near her.

Introduction Time! Ozzie!

Now that I've rambled on a bit about what this blog is for/ why I started it, I figured I had better introduce the four main reasons :D

Ozzie:

As a baby. Awww!

A recent photo, being his usual little poser self :P

I got Ozzie around August 2007 from a pet shop that specialises in birds. No free advertising for them lol but they are a fantastic pet store and I would never hesitate to buy another bird from there. In fact I did early last year lol.

Ozzie is one of the craziest, happiest little budgies I have ever met. He loves, loves, loves mirrors, he can spend hours at a time headbutting his reflection and tweeting away. He also loves his swings, I have several of them because they get fought over lol.

One of his latest weird antics is hanging upside down from the roof of the cage staring into the mirror on his swing.
I could probably go on for hours about my sweet yet loopy Ozzie, but I'll try not to lol. He is semi-tame in that he will step up onto my finger but only when he feels like it and occasionally giving my hand a nip with that sharp beak of his. Oh and woe betide me if I put my fingers anywhere near him when he's on his beloved swing, he is extremely possessive lol.

That's all for Ozzie today. <3

Welcome to my blog.

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I already have one blog for the cards I make but I decided today to start this blog about the other obsession in my life. Budgies!

I have four of these crazy little birds. Ozzie, Lola, Milo & Milly and I have had budgies since I was 16 years old. I started out with barely any knowledge of how to care for these gorgeous little birds. I thought all they needed was seeds, water, a small cage, a few toys, and of course my attention. Budgie's need so much more than that, and I have learnt such an unbelievable wealth of information in the past eight years and I like to think that my four are the happiest and healthiest budgies in the universe lol!

As well as rambling about my budgies and posting endless photos of my cute feathery friends I am also hoping to post helpful info for those new to budgie owning, or those that have had budgies for a while but still wish to improve their birds lives. I want to pass on all the help wonderful people have given me, and the things that I am still continuing to learn about budgies every day. I hope that people will read this blog but if not then at least it is a place to show my love and affection for my lovely budgies.
